Volcano island vacation

I try to work all the time but that's not always possible.  Some friends invited me to the island of Ometepe and I went on a retreat with them for a weekend.  Ometepe is an island in the middle of the lake Cocibolca (native name meaning 'sweet ocean').  Ometepe is composed of two volcanos - one dormant, one active - with heights of about 1500 meters.  Last year Robert hiked El Concepcion, the tallest of the two volcanos, reached the midway point and could see over the lake, the land, and out to the Pacific ocean.  I didn't get the chance to hike either volcano, but I did tour the island on horse back, bicycle, swimming, and by foot.  We were fortunate to visit during the off season (meaning no tourists) leaving the island to us alone.  It is a beautiful and enchanting place.
